A.G. Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa has been nominated as a Vice President of SAARC Journalist Forum Srilanka Chapter. Likewise, Priyan De Silva Secretary, Rifthy Ali Assistant Secretary and Leo Darshana as a Treasurer of SAARC Journalist Forum Srilanka Chapter.
Asela Kuruluwansa, K.M.H. Sanath Priyantha, Chaminda Gunarathne, Sajith Ranasinghe, Sajeewa Wijeweera, Darshana Bandara, Mangalanath Liyanaarachchi and Rasminda Gunarathne are nominated as a executive committee members of SAARC Journalist Forum Srilanka Chapter.
SAARC Journalist Forum central executive committee has also nominated Province Coordinator of Srilanka Chapter.
Nimal Abesingha and Priyanjith Alokabandara has been nominated as Coordinator of Western Province: (Colombo, Gampaha Kalutara). Samanthi Weerasekara and Ranjith Rajapaksha : Central Province: (Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya) and Aruna Kelum Bhodhimanage has been nominated as Coordinator of Southern Province: (Galle, Matara, Hambantota).
Likewise, Balanathan Satheesan Northern Province: (Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya), Wasantha Chandrapala: Eastern Province (Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara), Kumara Upul Tammita: North Central Province: (Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa) has been nominated Coordinator of respective Provinces.
Wiraj Pranando: Uva Province: (Badulla, Monaragala), Ajithlal Shantha Udaya : Sabaragamuwa Province: (Ratnapura, Kegalle) and Chandani Disanayake North Western Province: (Puttalam, Kurunegala) has been also nominated as Province Coordinator.

SAARC Journalist Forum UAE Chapter Exchanges their Views
The event was presided over by Samsur Rahman Sohail, President of the UAE Chapter, in the hall room of the Phoenix Hotel located in Dera Dubai. Mozaffar Rizvi, Senior Vice President of SAARC Journalist Forum UAE and Business Editor of Khaleej Times was present as the guest in the event.
The event was moderated by SAARC Journalist Forum UAE Chapter General Secretary Md Fakhruddin Munna.
Sagar Chandra Swapan, Vice President of SJF and Executive Editor of Dainik Banglar Odhikar was present at this time. Organizing Secretary and Daily Amar Somoy, Emirate Representative, Publicity Editor Sagar Dewan (Dainik Sangbad Mohana) and Md. Rasel Ahmed (Daily Alokito Sakal) were also present in the meeting.

SAARC Journalist Forum India Chapter meeting has been held
New Delhi. SAARC Journalist Forum India Chapter meeting has been held in New Delhi. The Meeting was presided by the India Chapter President Anirudh Sudhanshu along with the central executive member of International body Smita Mishra.
In a long span of meeting it was decided that SJF soon do some programmes to generate some funds to run the institution smoothly. In the meeting it has been also decided that Country like India state body should actively work and the cooperation among ourselves be needed.
It was also decided that a bi-monthly SAARC Times will be published and distributed widely. SJF India chapter will also write ministry for the recognition of SJF by government of India.
Shyamal Pal Convenor of the North East State of SAARC Journalist Forum India Chapter except Assam was also present in the meeting.

SAARC Journalist Forum published new poster of South Asia Media Summit 2024
Dhaka. SAARC Journalist Forum published a new poster of South Asia Media Summit going to held on 2024. SAARC Journalist Forum an international organisation of journalists of South Asia organises yearly South Asia Media Summit in different cities of different SAARC nations.
In 2024 SAARC Journalist Forum is organising the South Asia Media Summit in Dhaka a capital city of Bangladesh. SAARC Journalist Forum Bangladesh Chapter itself is doing the vigorous preparation on upcoming South Asia Media Summit.
Secretary General of SAARC Journalist Forum central executive committee Md Abdur Rahman says that SAARC Journalist Forum will organise a historical summit in the grand way in Dhaka. He said probably South Asia Media Summit will be held in second week of February, 2024.
More than 200 journalists from SAARC region will be expected to attend in the Summit. Journalists of South Asia will do widely discussions to establish press and expression freedom in the region and the method to fight for rights and dignity of journalists regionally and globally.
Journalists will also do discussions on their role for regional peace, human rights, democracy, gender equality and climate change in the Summit. In 2023 SAARC Journalist Forum had organised South Asia Media Summit in Noida, India collaboration with Gautam Buddha University.

SAARC Journalist Forum expressed solidarity during protests of journalists in Press Club of India
New Delhi. SAARC Journalist Forum expressed it’s solidarity against the raided of journalists of India by Delhi Police. SJF India Chapter President Anirudha Sudhansu expressed his solidarity during protests of journalists organised by Press Club of India. Journalists also write to Chief Justice of India for assurance of press freedom in the country along with all international community and organisations to fight against autocratic behaviour of Delhi Police.


Today journalists of India did protests against Delhi Police and government of India with huge gathering in the premises of Press Club of India. Earlier yesterday Delhi Police had raided and detained several journalists of India. Video journalist Abhisar Sharma, senior journalist Bhasha Singh, veteran journalist Urmilesh, Newsclick editor Prabir Purkayastha and writer Githa Hariharan, renowned journalist and commentator on the political economy Aunindyo Chakravarty, activist and historian Sohail Hashmi and satirist and stand-up comic Sanjay Rajaura were raided by Delhi Police.
Hindu journalist and Newsclick contributor Anuradha Raman, Satyam Tiwari, Aditi Nigam and Sumedha Pal along with several journalists were detained by police. SAARC Journalist Forum has demanded India government to assure press freedom in the country and immediately halt the activities against press and expression freedom.

SAARC Journalist Forum urge Indian government to assure press freedom
New Delhi. SAARC Journalist Forum condemns against raided the journalists of India by Delhi Police this morning. SAARC Journalist Forum protests against the incident by releasing press statement.
“SAARC Journalist Forum condemns the incident about raided the journalists of India by Delhi Police this morning. We come to know video journalist Abhisar Sharma, senior journalist Bhasha Singh, veteran journalist Urmilesh, Newsclick editor Prabir Purkayastha and writer Githa Hariharan, renowned journalist and commentator on the political economy Aunindyo Chakravarty, activist and historian Sohail Hashmi and satirist and stand-up comic Sanjay Rajaura were raided early this morning,” said in statement released by the SAARC Journalist Forum.
“We also notified that Hindu journalist and Newsclick contributor Anuradha Raman, Satyam Tiwari, Aditi Nigam and Sumedha Pal along with several journalists were detained by police. SAARC Journalist Forum expressed it’s deep concerns on detaining the journalists of India and want to urge Delhi Police not to go against press and expression freedom in India,” further stated in the press statement.
“We know India is largest democratic country of world and it is not suited for India to go against press freedom. We want Indian government and Delhi Police to stop immediately these kinds of activities and allow press freedom in the country. We also call on government of India along with all stakeholders and world community to raise the voice against undemocratic and autocratic behaviour of authorities of Delhi Police,” said in statement released by SAARC Journalist Forum President Raju Lama and Secretary General Md Abdur Rahman.

SAARC Journalist Forum call on Pakistan to ensure security of Afghan journalists
Kathmandu/Dhaka. SAARC Journalist Forum call on Pakistan to ensure security of Afghan journalists who are exile in Pakistan. SJF urge Pakistan government, Taliban government and United Nations to ensure security and professionalism of journalists of Afghanistan.
“SAARC Journalist Forum come to know that more than 140 journalists of Afghanistan who are exile in Pakistan are suffering from administration including members of SAARC Journalist Forum Afghanistan. Recently journalists of Afghanistan who are in exile are suffering from administration and police in various cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, said in statement released by SJF.
“We want to urge Pakistan government to deal humanly with the journalists of Afghanistan who are suffering hardly as they were forcely exiled from their own country. We would like to urge Taliban government let them return to their own home town and assure their profession. And also we want to request all international community including United Nations to initiate for solving problems of Afghan journalists,” said in statement released by President Raju Lama and Secretary General Md Abdur Rahman.

SJF leaders held discussions with North South University for South Asia Media Summit 2024
Dhaka. SJF leaders held an exchange of views on the South Asia Media Summit 2024 venue with the Chairman of Journalism Department and Social Science Department at North South University campus.
The meeting discussed the “South Asia Media Summit-2024” to be jointly organized by SAARC Journalists Forum and North South University in the mid of February 2024.
In the meeting, on behalf of North South University, the chairman of the Department of Political Science and Sociology Professor Dr. SK Tawfiq M Haque, Prof. Dr. Harisur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Md. Taufiq e Elahi were present.
SAARC Journalist Forum was supported by Central Committee Secretary General Md. Abdur Rahman, SJF Bangladesh Chapter General Secretary Najma Sultana Neela, AZM Mainul Islam and Ismat Doha.
