Kathmandu/Dhaka. Rahul Samantha Hettiarachchi has been nominated as a President of SAARC Journalist Forum Srilanka Chapter. SAARC Journalist Forum central executive committee has nominated Rahul Samantha as a new President of SJF Srilanka Chapter.
A.G. Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa has been nominated as a Vice President of SAARC Journalist Forum Srilanka Chapter. Likewise, Priyan De Silva Secretary, Rifthy Ali Assistant Secretary and Leo Darshana as a Treasurer of SAARC Journalist Forum Srilanka Chapter.
Asela Kuruluwansa, K.M.H. Sanath Priyantha, Chaminda Gunarathne, Sajith Ranasinghe, Sajeewa Wijeweera, Darshana Bandara, Mangalanath Liyanaarachchi and Rasminda Gunarathne are nominated as a executive committee members of SAARC Journalist Forum Srilanka Chapter.
SAARC Journalist Forum central executive committee has also nominated Province Coordinator of Srilanka Chapter.
Nimal Abesingha and Priyanjith Alokabandara has been nominated as Coordinator of Western Province: (Colombo, Gampaha Kalutara). Samanthi Weerasekara and Ranjith Rajapaksha : Central Province: (Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya) and Aruna Kelum Bhodhimanage has been nominated as Coordinator of Southern Province: (Galle, Matara, Hambantota).
Likewise, Balanathan Satheesan Northern Province: (Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya), Wasantha Chandrapala: Eastern Province (Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara), Kumara Upul Tammita: North Central Province: (Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa) has been nominated Coordinator of respective Provinces.
Wiraj Pranando: Uva Province: (Badulla, Monaragala), Ajithlal Shantha Udaya : Sabaragamuwa Province: (Ratnapura, Kegalle) and Chandani Disanayake North Western Province: (Puttalam, Kurunegala) has been also nominated as Province Coordinator.

SAARC Journalists Forum will work to establish peace in the world: Raju Lama
Vaishali Golden Jubilee closing ceremony has been organized, Journalists of Nepal, India and Bangladesh has honoured.
Vaishali. Vaishali District Establishment in collaboration with SAARC Journalist Forum, Bihar, India Chapter under the joint aegis of Human Rights Today and Amrapali Kala Sahitya Sammelan at The Buddha Fun and Food Village auditorium located near Vishwa Shanti Stupa in Vaishali, established as the mother of democracy in the world. On the occasion of the closing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee year, a discussion and felicitation ceremony on the topic of war, peace and human rights was organized last Saturday.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Sarita Budhu Convener of International Folk Culture, Mauritius, Dr. Anil Sulabh, President of Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Patna, Dr. Rajkumar Nahar, Program Head of Doordarshan Kendra, Patna, Human Rights Convener Dr. Shashi Bhushan Kumar, famous litterateur Dr. Usha Verma, Raju Lama, President of SAARC Journalist Forum and Md. Abdur Rahman of Hello Dhaka News jointly lit the lamp. Addressing the function, Dr. Sarita Budhu said that democracy and peace can be established only through non-violence.
Addressing the program, International President of SAARC Journalists Forum, Raju Lama rejected the discussion of war instead of peace and said that guaranteeing human rights in the world is impossible as an alternative to peace. He stated that following the path of Buddha and Mahabir is the need of present world and said that SAARC Journalists Forum is adamant on this agenda. Chairman of the program, Dr. Anil Sulabh said that human rights violations occur widely during war. The current situation is not good for the world.
Welcoming President of SAARC Journalist Forum Bihar Dr. Shashi Bhushan Kumar said that protection of human rights is absolutely necessary for democratic empowerment. Dr. Rajkumar Nahar said that democracy is the best method of governance. Protection of human rights is a necessary condition for peace.
Padmashree Dr. Jitendra Kumar said that there is an atmosphere of war in the world today, which is not good for humanity. Padmashree Rajkumari Devi alias Kisan Chachi said that today the entire world needs the thoughts of Buddha, Mahavir and Gandhi. Padmashree Dr. Shanti Rai said in her address that war gives rise to many problems and it is not the solution to any problem.
Md. Abdur Rahman said that Vaishali has given the message of democracy to the world and spread democratic ideas. Amarnath Jha, founder of Elite Institute, said that human rights and democracy complement each other.
Human rights activist Amit Kumar ‘Vishvas’, present at the ceremony, said that the idea of war is fatal for democracy and human rights and having a war is equivalent to ending it. He emphasized on solving problems through democratic method.
Kaushar Pravez conducted the stage at the function and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Shivbalak Rai Prabhakar.

SAARC Journalist Forum call on UN Security Council to ensure ceasefire in Israel Gaza Conflict
Kathmandu/Dhaka. SAARC Journalist Forum call on UN Security Council and International Community to ensure an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories to prevent further harm to civilians.
SAARC Journalist Forum released press statement on Israel Gaza Conflict and urge for UN and International Community to ensure an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
“SAARC Journalist Forum call on U.N. Security Council, the U.N. Secretary General, and all world leaders to ensure an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories to prevent further harm to civilians,” said in the statement released by SAARC Journalist Forum.
SJF further said, “At least 19 journalists, who are civilians under international law, have been killed in the first 10 days of the war, most of them in Gaza. The escalating conflict has resulted in the deadliest week for journalists in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.”
“SAARC Journalist Forum condemn on inhuman attacks on journalists and civilian in Gaza and urge to ceasefire immediately with needed humanitarian assistance and establish peace in the region,” stated in the press statement released by SAARC Journalist Forum President Raju Lama and Secretary General Md Abdur Rahman.

SAARC Journalist Forum expressed solidarity in the ongoing sit-in in front of Kantipur Publications
Kathmandu. SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF), Nepal Chapter has expressed its solidarity with the movement organized by the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) against the series of professional insecurity and humiliation of working journalists in Kantipur Media Group.
The team led by President of Nepal Chapter Prakash Silwal has expressed solidarity and support in the ongoing sit-in in front of Kantipur Publications premises at Thapathali today. Secretariat member of Nepal Chapter Madhav Prasad Tiwari and member Shyam Tandukar also participated in the sit-in.
In the big media house of Nepal like Kantipur, the working journalists are fired against the law, they are transferred to places where there are no posts and they are not given salary and service facilities according to the law even in the face of Dashain festival.
Nepal Chapter earnestly urges the concerned parties to give up such wrong actions and thinking and solve the problem quickly through heartfelt dialogue.

SAARC Journalist Forum UAE Chapter Exchanges their Views
The event was presided over by Samsur Rahman Sohail, President of the UAE Chapter, in the hall room of the Phoenix Hotel located in Dera Dubai. Mozaffar Rizvi, Senior Vice President of SAARC Journalist Forum UAE and Business Editor of Khaleej Times was present as the guest in the event.
The event was moderated by SAARC Journalist Forum UAE Chapter General Secretary Md Fakhruddin Munna.
Sagar Chandra Swapan, Vice President of SJF and Executive Editor of Dainik Banglar Odhikar was present at this time. Organizing Secretary and Daily Amar Somoy, Emirate Representative, Publicity Editor Sagar Dewan (Dainik Sangbad Mohana) and Md. Rasel Ahmed (Daily Alokito Sakal) were also present in the meeting.

SAARC Journalist Forum India Chapter meeting has been held
New Delhi. SAARC Journalist Forum India Chapter meeting has been held in New Delhi. The Meeting was presided by the India Chapter President Anirudh Sudhanshu along with the central executive member of International body Smita Mishra.
In a long span of meeting it was decided that SJF soon do some programmes to generate some funds to run the institution smoothly. In the meeting it has been also decided that Country like India state body should actively work and the cooperation among ourselves be needed.
It was also decided that a bi-monthly SAARC Times will be published and distributed widely. SJF India chapter will also write ministry for the recognition of SJF by government of India.
Shyamal Pal Convenor of the North East State of SAARC Journalist Forum India Chapter except Assam was also present in the meeting.

Dhaka. SAARC Journalist Forum published a new poster of South Asia Media Summit going to held on 2024. SAARC Journalist Forum an international organisation of journalists of South Asia organises yearly South Asia Media Summit in different cities of different SAARC nations.
In 2024 SAARC Journalist Forum is organising the South Asia Media Summit in Dhaka a capital city of Bangladesh. SAARC Journalist Forum Bangladesh Chapter itself is doing the vigorous preparation on upcoming South Asia Media Summit.
Secretary General of SAARC Journalist Forum central executive committee Md Abdur Rahman says that SAARC Journalist Forum will organise a historical summit in the grand way in Dhaka. He said probably South Asia Media Summit will be held in second week of February, 2024.
More than 200 journalists from SAARC region will be expected to attend in the Summit. Journalists of South Asia will do widely discussions to establish press and expression freedom in the region and the method to fight for rights and dignity of journalists regionally and globally.
Journalists will also do discussions on their role for regional peace, human rights, democracy, gender equality and climate change in the Summit. In 2023 SAARC Journalist Forum had organised South Asia Media Summit in Noida, India collaboration with Gautam Buddha University.
